New to DiGuardo this season are beautiful cashmere pieces from Bon & Zai- for women and men

Philosophy
“In a world where old and new seem to compete for the same spaces, where traditions are both imposed and challenged, where the classic inspires a sense of deja vu, and trends last no more than morning dew, BON & ZAI seeks to reconcile the opposites. Inspired by the yin and yang concept of eternal balance, BON gives us tradition, structure, permanence and quality, while ZAI is all about change, creativity, fun, colour and uniqueness. An age-old quest to settle, in the harmony of movement itself, the freedom of boundless space and the magic essence of time.”
BON & ZAI is the result of the fateful encounter of a pair of sparkling young women, Nancy Cravero and Isabel Morillo, who share a simple but unique view of cashmere. Each year, they create a small collection which allows them to pay special attention to detail. The piece that you will own is part of a very exclusive range which exhorts beauty, originality and quality.
Nancy is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her career in fashion started in this South American metropolitan hub. She then continued her studies in Madrid and later in London, where she worked alongside renowned fashion designers. For Nancy, working with Cashmere was a challenge because until recently, this fibre had only been used to make very traditional and classic styles. As a designer, she was looking to offer new things that would appeal to a public that wished to differentiate themselves through small details or unique accents, while respecting the inherent nature of cashmere.
Isabel was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She started her career, however, far away from the fashion milieu. After graduating from Law School, Isabel moved to London to work in the Oil Trading Industry. As a Venezuelan, Isabel found European winters to be very cold and long. She was given her first cashmere sweater as a present and instantly fell in love with its softness. Soon enough though, she realised that aside from some flashy colours, there was not much in the market that she identified with – she was looking for something that would make her look different and fun yet remain stylish and elegant.
Despite their different backgrounds, their common interest in cashmere is complementary. While Nancy contributes the formal aspects of the fashion canon and style, Isabel brings forth the intensely alive, warm and bright reflections from the tropics of youth. The result is a product that –while respecting the natural austerity embedded in its primordial design impulse- is endlessly rich in its variations. Much of it modulated by the everyday realities of fabric and process.
“Adornment by simplicity is impeccable”, said the sages of antiquity. This quote seems to reflect the deep impulse that drives this young and creative pair who gave life to BON & ZAI.
